BIOGRAPHY
Kevin BLONDEL grew up reading and making comics — adapting his favorite animated series before eventually writing his own stories.
He left for Belgium to study sequential art under the supervision of Antonio COSSU (ALCEISTER CROWLEY, BOSKOVICH) at the Académie des Beaux-Arts de Tournai.
A former bookseller, now embarking on a self publishing journey — under the Rainfall Publishing label — to promote his graphic novels.
Among other projects, he also organizes conferences and workshops around the ninth art while producing music in his spare time.
THE RAINFALL EXPERIENCE
The author seeks to introduce readers to old traditions and philosophies through entertaining stories.
A psychological thriller author, he explores the minds of troubled protagonists. Sometimes lost in a world they don't understand, those characters seek peace and purpose in a search for self-acceptance.
Their quest soon takes them on a journey through time — as cultural heritage and folklore push them to overcome the tragedies of their life and grow from those past experiences.
AESOP × LONE WOLF & CUB × SILENT HILL
Between realism and fantasy, the worlds depicted in our novels are grounded in thorough research on the history and ideology of past and modern civilizations.
Perverted into a sort of purgatory — that one must adventure through to face the consequences of his past actions — these realms will eventually offer their victims the choice to move towards the light or forever sink into darkness.
Each story also reflects the theories of great thinkers of the past — thus making these works a collection of philosophical fictions. By first introducing readers to concepts borrowed from renowned authors, they are then encouraged to reflect on their teachings — through the moral that concludes each volume.
Not unlike a fable, this apologetic method was popular in Ancient Greece — before being revisited and popularized during the Age of Enlightenment.
SEQUENTIAL ARTIST
Since its creation, Sequential Art was overlooked as a literary genre — despite the support of renowned authors and its undeniable influence on popular culture.
Our goal is to look at the unique properties of the medium and tell impactful stories through a diligent application of its specificities. Ultimately, we hope to build upon the legacy of those groundbreaking artists — who once pushed the boundaries of what can be achieved in the field.
